I was just on The Guardian and clicked on a link to a clothing site (opioneers.co.uk) and the link was blocked by UblockOrigin and the rule showed the blocked site was "skimresources.com" Just NO. I usually at least allow the "intersitital" site ad hopping from places
like The Guardian but this was just too much, so I went to the site directly.

Attempting to run sdrpp_debian_bullseye_amd64.deb and Gqrx-2.17.5-x86_64.AppImage resulted in
"rtlsdr_demod_write_reg failed with -7"
error on the console.
fixed this by connecting the device directly to the computer USB port! It was simply a low power situation.

By default, FFmpeg uses a generic 256-color palette for every GIF encoding. This can result in suboptimal output. To create a higher-quality GIF, you can use the palettegen filter to generate a custom palette of 256 colors specifically for your video.
Here are the commands that you need to run to generate a custom palette and create a GIF using FFmpeg:
Generate a custom palette
ffmpeg -ss 00:01:30 -t 2 -i video.mkv -filter_complex "[0:v] palettegen" palette.png
Create a GIF
ffmpeg -ss 00:01:30 -t 2 -i video.mkv -i palette.png -filter_complex "[0:v] fps=10,scale=720:-1 [new];[new][1:v] paletteuse" output.gif
The first command will generate a custom palette named palette.png. The second command will create a GIF named output.gif using the custom palette and the original video.

Thoughts:
Why on Earth have sooo many Artists (bands) left extremely popular songs with ancient 480p resolution as their sole version on youtube?
The "upscaled" 1080p youtube generates - that they call "remastered" - is often just horrible, and now there's no incentive for artists or labels to upload better quality video as the problem is "fixed"
Thanks Google, for making the world slightly blurrier again and adding more sticktion on the path to a better world.

Downloading youtube's new enhanced premium 1080P streams (really just higher bitrate AFAICT, better than the old!):
The new bitrate can be accessed freely via yt-dlp using the following option:
$yt-dlp --extractor-args "youtube:player_client=default,ios" < URL AND OTHER OPTIONS >
The ID for the new stream quality is 616.
The available versions can be listed with the '-F' option.
$yt-dlp -F < URL >
What is yt-dl? A multi-platform python3 program to download and integrate audiovisual media from youtube, spotify, and many others.!
